  Richmond is an Actor , Musician and Workshop Facilitator, he  also leds the collective                        which consists of Musicians, singers, Rap/spoken word artists. He currently holds a Publishing deal with Rodriguize Music LTD & a Production deal with Map Music with whom he record his 1st Album/CD.

 As a facilitator he has over 20 years experience of working Nationally and Internationally in Criminal Justice system designing workshops and theatre pieces that aim to assist in breaking the offending behaviour Cycle. Over this period he’s worked in no less than 50 prisons and penal institutes for various companies including Insight Arts, Escape Artists, Clean Break, The women’s prisoners Resource Centre and Ride Out. He also worked for The Ann Peaker Centre (National Unit for arts & Offenders) as a facilitator delivering their workshops training Arts Practitioners the core principles of working in custodial settings.   In 1999  Richmond took part in a International research project looking at Arts in Prisons

‘New Life Maps’ with partners from Manchester, Greece, Spain and Holland . Trials were held at Feltham YOI England and Leylstad Netherlands.

 

  In 2003 Richmond Trew was invited to conduct a research study into the needs of young black fathers when coming into contact with the midwifery service. http://www.fatherhoodinstitute.org/uploads/publications/186.pdf 

 The research was commissioned by the DFES and led by Fathers Direct with support from St Michael's Fellowship, Sure Start Plus working with Sue Pollock of Bristol University.The findings were presented in 2005 at the Fatherhood Institutes National Conference. The post was also to ‘pilot’ the role of a fathers worker. It was during this period Richmond designed the ‘New Dad' Project with the task of supporting fathers in all aspects of parenting using creative methods to engage and inform. The project was initially housed at St Michael’s Fellowship based in South London and is now managed by Journeyman Arts. Richmond also piloted a father’s support service in 2008/9 in the borough of Ealing on behalf of the local authority and also held the position of co-ordinator for ‘Working With Men’Project on their expectant fathers courses. www.facebook.com/newdadproject.

Sometimes great theatre is born out of real life dramas. For seven years The Insight Theatre has been commenting on crime. Working with themes of crime and punishment, the company examines real issues of concern for audiences today. Its latest production, The Anger Dyes, tells the story of a prison inmate who loses his memory of life outside. On his release he goes in search of his former self and rediscovers the pressures that took him to prison in the first place. -Developing  outreach programs that connect directly with young fathers and provide them with opportunities to access information and services in respect to fatherhood.
-Develop a service that allows young fathers to have a voice for their experience, alongside being able to explore the issues and responsibilities inherent in their role as a father.
